Decision Support Model

The Decision Support Model is a uniquie and sophisticated analytical tool that evaluates the decisions and responses made in response to an incident in real time. This capability allows emergency planners to prove their response actually works rather than 'hoping it does' by evaluating all the factors.
- 'We were able to test our emergency plan assumptions, resources and logistics before the exercise. The lessons learned were then fed into our detailed exercise design
- The simulation interface was surprisingly easy to use. After one demonstration we didn't need the help-line once
- Using the decision-support model in real-time during an exercise meant that we could model response for all the key agencies. The acid test for our exercise was the number of lives saved and people rescued. After the exercise we were able to run through the model in What-if mode to explore the key decision points. It was invaluable linking lessons at strategic and tactical levels.
- We now have a record of lessons learned that we can use of future training courses.'
